Purple Pavona

This Purple Pavona is a great SPS coral for beginners. Pavona can look similar to Leptoseris but you can identify them by either being Bifacial (Pavona) or Unifacial (Leptoseris). Pavona can produce a potato-chip like structure which have tiny tentacles that extrude. These corals can be quite nasty with aggression as they have sweeper tentacles that come out in clusters. Give them lots of space to grow and encrust.
